In 1938, Philibert DESRUE bought 1.3 ha of Brouilly and 0.65 ha of Côte-de-Brouilly.
He left his profession as a café owner in Cercié to grow vines and be a wine broker in the Beaujolais vineyards.
His son Antoine married in 1934 and in 1935 he had a daughter Claudette. Antoine followed in his father's footsteps until 1985.
Joseph BENOIT and his wife Yvonne, originally from the Dombes region, moved to Les Vadoux, a hamlet in St Jean d'Ardières, in 1933. Roger was born to them on 19 August 1932. Once there, they looked after meadows, 4 or 5 cows and a few plots of vines in the Beaujolais appellation..
During their years of activity, the meadows were replanted with 7 ha of vines. The production is brought to the Wine-growers' cooperative.
